Ms. Gordon earned a Masters’ Degree in Physical Therapy at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, graduating in 1992. Since graduation she has devoted over 20 years to pediatric physical therapy and has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, daycare centers and private homes.
In 2011 Ms. Gordon attended her first Cuevas Medek seminar. “Sitting in the lecture hall and watching Sr. Cuevas demonstrate his technique on a variety of children I was profoundly impressed with his unique perspective and extraordinary handling skills. I immediately began utilizing the technique was rewarded with significantly improved therapy outcomes. CME is the most effective therapeutic technique I have utilized in more than 20 years.” Ms. Gordon has travelled to Chile several times to continue her studies in the CME clinic and has completed beginning, intermediate and advanced CME training.
Ms. Gordon has worked with individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses including severe prematurity; cerebral palsy; spina bifida; genetic anomalies including Down syndrome; microcephaly; hydrocephalus; torticollis; brain malformation; osteogenesis imperfecta; hypotonia; hypertonia; hemiplegia, autism; and more. Additionally, Ms. Gordon has performed hundreds of gross motor evaluations and screenings, bringing peace of mind and clarity of understanding to scores of families in NYC, Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties.
